Chaisson says if you need to get somewhere call 637-1666, tell them the reason why you’re calling, and the city will help.
There have been three big winter storms here on the west coast in the last 6 weeks and plows have been out in Corner Brook all night. Mayor Linda Chaisson was on Bayfm with Lenny Benoit this morning and says they’re doing the best they can but with three storms back to back there’s not much time to recoup. She says plows were out yesterday, today and will run into tonight to get to side roads. Chaisson says the priority is to get the main routes cleared first and then side roads. However, she says if you need to get somewhere call 637-1666, tell them the reason why you’re calling, and the city will help.
Meanwhile, last night’s regular council meeting was cancelled and Chaisson says it’s the first time that’s happened during her 16 year term. So, she contacted Lenny Benoit about it. He told her that by 5 o’clock, you will not be able to see and shortly before the supper hour yesterday, she could not see across the street. Chaisson now calls Benoit “the Weather Witch” and says “if you need to know what the weather is, go on Bayfm.”
Benoit, aka, "the weather witch says we’re getting a break from the snow tomorrow and Thursday, with some rain in the forecast."
