Councillor Pam Gill was removed from voting on a Grenfell Student Union request since her employer is Grenfell Campus and the Mayor asked that she sit in the gallery during the vote.
Corner Brook councillors who are seen to be in a conflict of interest when voting on matters, will now have to sit in the gallery. During Monday night’s regular council meeting, members discussed an application by the Grenfell Campus Student Union to by-pass the noise regulations for an event on September 4th from 10pm until 1am. Councillor Pam Gill was removed from voting on this since her employer is Grenfell Campus. It was at this point, when Mayor Jim Parsons mentioned some new rules. The Mayor asked the councillor to move to a seat in the gallery. Meanwhile, council agreed that more discussion was needed to see if the noise would affect residents of the LongTerm Care facility
