September 20th will mark four years in business here in Corner Brook for “Samuel’s Sammiches and Sweets.” It’s owned and operated by Robert McCarthy and his wife Christina. McCarthy says she came up with the idea to cook and offer a meal on Tibbs Eve or December 23rd to anyone who needs it. He says within a week after posting to social media about their idea, other businesses and donations confirmed enough to prepare more than 300 meals at about $50 each. McCarthy says they’re looking for people to register now by contacting the Lions Club at cornerbrooklions@gmail.com. He says a lot of volunteers have signed up so they can offer delivery of meals on December 23rd.
