Corner Brook MHA Gerry Byrne says any workplace tragedy is a horrible tragedy and this solemn, horrible day cannot be forgotten, especially on the eve of the National Day of Mourning for workplace deaths.

Condolences for those affected by a weekend boating tragedy in Lark Harbour are continuing today. On Sunday, a dory capsized and the bodies of the two fishermen on board were recovered by the Canadian Coast Guard. This on the start of the annual lobster fishery. Corner Brook MHA Gerry Byrne says any workplace tragedy is a horrible tragedy and this solemn, horrible day cannot be forgotten, especially on the eve of the National Day of Mourning for workplace deaths. Premier Andrew Furey and Fisheries Minister Elvis Loveless offered condolences in the House of Assembly yesterday. They extended heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the two crew members from Lark Harbour who were taken from us just days ago while fishing for lobster. Our thoughts are with the community and all those affected during this difficult time.
