The  city of Corner Brook has accepted a proposal for a prime consultant for the Riverside Drive Embankment Risk Assessment project.. At Monday’s public meeting, council awarded slightly more than $103K to Stantec. Councillor Charles Pender says three proposals were received. The project, funded through the City's COOR budget, involves conducting a hydrological assessment, reviewing historical climate data, and developing a risk matrix to help monitor the area. This matrix will serve as a tool for City staff to determine whether to close the road in the event of heightened landslide risks. A landslide in the area on April 4th of last year, injured two people after their vehicle was pushed into the Humber River.
