Bay St. George RCMP arrested a 31-year-old man Monday night after he fled from police during an attempted traffic stop. Brandon Jesso has been charged with flight from police, resisting arrest and failure to comply with his court-imposed conditions. Police on patrol shortly before 9:30 p.m., spotted an ATV operating with its rear lights off. They tried to stop the driver, who fled in a dangerous manner so officers did not pursue in the interest of public safety. A short time later, police located Jesso and the ATV in a nearby wooded area. That’s when he tried to get away again but was apprehended and continued to be physical with the officers. Jesso was taken to the Stephenville detachment and the ATV was seized by police. He was previously under court-ordered conditions not to operate a motor vehicle and that his licence was suspended.
