A victim has been airlifted to St. John’s with serious injuries and a suspect is dead after a shooting in Grand Falls-Windsor. Shortly after 2:30 yesterday afternoon RCMP were called to a home on Main Street and located the victim inside. A witness provided a description of the vehicle used by the suspect and police located it a short time later. The suspect was dead near the vehicle but police do not believe that criminality was involved in that individual’s death. RCMP say the incident was targeted and there is no risk to public safety. Meanwhile, people in the area can expect to see an increased police presence as the investigation continues.
