Bay St. George RCMP arrested three people for impaired driving since Friday. Police saw a man operating an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) on a road in St. George’s on Friday. He was not wearing a helmet and RCMP tried to stop him. The operator kept going, and was located and arrested outside his home. Back at the detachment, the man provided breath samples that were more than twice the legal limit. On Sunday, police received a report of an impaired driver in West Bay. The described vehicle was located in Kippens and a traffic stop was conducted. The driver, a 47-year-old woman, showed signs of alcohol impairment and failed a roadside breath test. Shortly after midnight on Monday, police received a report of a single-vehicle crash on the Trans-Canada Highway near Jeffreys. Officers attended the scene where the driver, a 31-year-old man, showed signs of impairment but refused to provide a sample. He is set to appear in court at a later date to face a charge of refusing to provide a breath sample. The vehicle was seized and impounded.
