FireSmart Canada is accepting Wildfire Community Preparedness Day Award applications. These awards provide $500 to municipalities and community groups with project ideas that help lower the risk of wildfires and promote preparedness. Wildfire Community Preparedness Day is officially May 2nd and NL has been involved in the awards program since 2019. Last year, 44 municipalities, fire departments, and organizations received funding, an impressive increase from 13 recipients in 2024 and 10 in 2023.
