A Teachers Think Tank on recruitment will start in the new year

    The group will include educators, as well as government, the NLTA and academia. They will have build on the recently ratified collective agreement by finding ways to employ and keep teachers. 

    Recruitment and retention will be the focus as part of a Teachers Think Tank to be held in the new year. Teachers are facing challenges that need to be addressed and the Teachers Think Tank will provide a dedicated forum to hear directly from teachers to determine how to address those challenges head on. The group will include educators, as well as government, the NLTA and academia. They will have build on the recently ratified collective agreement by finding ways to employ and keep teachers.  Education Minister Krista Lynn Howell says, “Teachers play a key role in contributing to the social and economic fabric of our province.” NLTA President Trent Langdon says, “The working conditions for teachers are the learning conditions for students.”
