RNC say the fire was contained to a top floor apartment and was quickly extinguished by the St. John’s Regional Fire department. A busy night for St. John’s RNC with 246 calls in a 24 hour period. At 5:20 p.m. yesterday, police were called to the downtown area and arrested a 21 year old woman for being intoxicated while under court orders to not drink. Shortly before 11 o’clock last night, Police noticed a known wanted man in the Military Road area. He ran inside a building but police caught him and the 37 year old was arrested. At midnight, RNC conducted a traffic stop in the Park Avenue area of Mount Pearl and ticketed a 33 year old man for no insurance and seized the vehicle. Shortly before 12:20 am police responded to a call of a male spray painting a building in the area of Duckworth Street, in St John’s. The 29 year old male was charged with mischief. Shortly after 1;30 this morning, RNC arrested a 23 year old man for impaired driving on Topsail Road in Paradise. At 3:20 this morning, the RNC arrested a 29 year old man from British Columbia after he was seen painting graffiti in the St. John’s downtown area.
