The city of Corner Brook has completed installing new parking kiosks in the downtown area. This process was on the go this past year following the vandalism of cash meters. Now that they’ve been tested, Communications Officer Ryan Butt says there are two ways to pay and they are cashless. A license plate number is required and payment can be made using tap on a debit card or through the Hot Spot app.
Butt says once you have paid for your time you can move to any other City parking spot within that period. For example if you visit Broadway and pay for an hour but are ready to leave in fifteen minutes, you can move to Main Street and park there without needing to pay again until the hour is up.
The limit per parking transaction is 2hrs at $2/hr and this is enforced week-days from 8:00am-6:00pm, except on holidays.
