The Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Campaign kicked off on Friday and after only a couple of days, one of the trays at a Corner Brook business was taken. Robert Murphy of the local branch says they got a call yesterday about a tray being found on O’Connell Drive. He says then they got another call from A & W stating that the tray had been stolen from there during Sunday evening. Murphy says this is very disappointing because every penny raised here stays to help veterans in this area. He says it’s been about 6 years since something like this has happened here and they’re afraid this might be a recurring thing. Murphy says this is very upsetting but they will follow up on it. He says many of the members aren’t aware that this has happened yet.
