Quick action by volunteer fire departments on the south shore of the Bay of Islands yesterday put out a forest fire in the Blow me Down area. Shortly after 2 p.m., the South Shore department was dispatched and they asked for help from York/ Lark Harbour Fire as a solid water source. No municipal water supply was in the area so mutual aid used their tanker to get it there. The blaze was extinguished but there was some structural damage.
