A 44-year-old man is facing charges after police searched homes on Wednesday in the Islandview Heights area of Deer Lake and a camp road near Humber Valley Resort. Cpl Jesse O’Donaghey says searches were conducted by the RCMP-RNC Joint Forces Operation (JFO) West. They found cocaine and pills, firearms and ammunition, large quantities of currency and silver as well as paraphernalia.
O’Donaghey says Chad Cassell was arrested and charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of property obtained by crime. He was released from custody and is due to appear in provincial court in December.
The investigation is continuing.
