The RNC handed out close to 250 tickets for traffic offences during the Labour Day weekend. Police targeted speeding, distracted, and impaired driving. Traffic checkpoints caught drivers without a license, outstanding fines, and no registration. Seven vehicles were seized, and five driver’s licenses suspended. Four motorists were charged with impaired driving.
The highest speed recorded over the weekend was on the East Coast with a motorcyclist doing 160 km/hr in an 80 km/hr zone.
