The Corner Brook Civic Centre will be loud tonight as the Newfoundland Regiment take on the Saginaw Spirit with 1100 tickets sold so far. This series in the Quebec Maritime Junior Hockey league is tied at a game apiece and tonight’s game is the finale. Seth Hyde is the voice of the Newfoundland Regiment and came on Bayfm this morning. This is the second year for the team and Hyde says the team is younger this year.
Hyde is 18 and recently graduated high school. He was 12 years old when he realized he would not be heading on to the NHL but started calling the games. The Newfoundland Regiment will play their first game of the season against the St. John’s Sea Dogs on September 18th.
