A 29-year-old woman from Lourdes was caught without proper insurance after a hit and run in Stephenville Thursday evening. Cpl Jesse O’Donaghey says Bay St. George RCMP attended the scene on Main Street where a passenger car struck and damaged another vehicle and failed to remain at the scene. No injuries were reported to police. Officers located the described suspect vehicle.
O’Donaghey says the driver was ticketed for operating a vehicle without insurance and there could be more. Failing to remain at the scene of an accident is a criminal offence. The investigation is continuing and further tickets or charges could be possible.
Her vehicle was seized and impounded.
