A $700 revitalization plan by Corner Brook Pulp and Paper is now in the hands of government undergoing the environmental assessment process. Known as “Project Tuckamore,” includes the development of a 155 MW wind farm, with up to 22 wind turbines, a transmission line connecting to the existing substation in Massey Drive, upgrades at Deer Lake Power, and forestry modernization. Construction also includes road upgrades, site preparation, turbine installation, and electrical infrastructure. The project was registered on September 1st, the deadline for public comment is October 6th and a decision is due by October 16th. Comments can be sent to: EAProjectComments@gov.nl.ca.
