Dr. Tony Tavenor says this year’s case for support is about $600,000 to help purchase 7 pieces of equipment. The new equipment will be portable and easy to move to the new hospital next year.
The 34th annual radiothon in support of the Western Regional Hospital Foundation is set to take place next Friday and it will be broadcasted on Bayfm for the first time ever. Dr. Tony Tavenor was in the studio on Friday speaking with Lenny Benoit. He says this year’s case for support is about $600,000 to help purchase 7 pieces of equipment. Tavenor says this new equipment will be portable and easy to move to the new hospital next year and they’ll move in around summer time. He says they’re looking to buy a couple of Real Ear Systems for the Audiology Department. One of the big ticket items on the wish list is High Fidelity Simulation Manikins. Tavenor says the last time they bought something similar was thirty years ago to help nursing students. He says the new computerized version of Annie Annie will make a big difference in training. The number to call in a pledge for the Western Regional Hospital Foundation Radiothon is 709-634-2322. Tune into Bayfm this Friday for all the fun.
