A couple of west coast projects have advanced to the next stage in the environmental assessment process. The town of Deer Lake is proposing to build a residential subdivision on a 16-hectare site at the northern end of Humber View Drive. It will include 96 residential lots,  and a recreational open space with a small community park and playground. The project was registered November 22nd, the deadline for public comment is December 27th and the Minister’s decision is expected by January 6th.

Elsewhere, the West Coast Cycling Association will be developing 11.5 kms of mountain biking trails that would connect to an existing trail. Construction will involve the use of hand tools and mechanized equipment. The project was registered on October 11th and the Minister released the project on November 20th.
