A traffic stop and a false name resulted in the man being arrested.
Bay St. George RCMP have arrested a man with 2 outstanding warrants, one for a charge of assaulting a police officer with a weapon. Police say 32-year-old Timothy Blake and a 27-year-old woman were stopped a traffic stop on the TCH. Following the stop, police realized the driver had given them a false name for the male passenger. The vehicle was located a short time later travelling in Stephenville, where the female driver was stopped for a second time. The driver was arrested without incident for obstructing a police officer. Blake refused to exit the vehicle and locked the doors. He was removed from the vehicle and arrested.
