Fred Hutton says the NL First Procurement Strategy was announced long before the current trade dispute with the US.
About 100 companies involved in the construction industry attended the Newfoundland and Labrador Construction Association Build 2025 Expo in Torbay yesterday. Build 2025 is the province’s largest commercial and industrial construction trade event, with exhibitors showcasing innovative products and services for buyers in construction industries. Transportation and infrastructure Minister Fred Hutton brought a message of certainty to the gathering with what’s going on in the United States and global markets and government is keeping a close eye. Hutton says all procurement strategies point towards a NL first way of buying. He says the NL First Procurement Strategy was announced long before the current trade dispute with the US. Budget 2025 included a $200M contingency fund to help with fallout from trade issues with the US and protect jobs in NL.
