Mayor Tom Rose says council has always written off the property and business tax for the Stephenville Airport Corporation.
The Mayor of Stephenville is looking forward to the final sale of the town’s airport. It’s been a lengthy process since Carl Dymond announced his intention to buy the bankrupt facility 2 years ago. Dymond is anxious to get the keys and the Mayor is anxious to finalize the deal. Mayor Rose says he’s not sure who was wondering if the deal is real, but says it is. He says council has always written off the property and business tax for the Stephenville Airport Corporation. Mayor Rose says normally they would wait until the end of the year but wanted to get this done to speed up the sale. He says the airport authority was in bankruptcy protection for the past 17 years and all the creditors had to be paid.
