This is International Day of the Girl Child. Established by the United Nations in 2011, this day brings attention and awareness to the rights, challenges and potential of girls around the world. It also celebrates the achievements of girls who have overcome adversity and encourages global action towards gender equality. This year’s theme is Girls’ Vision for the Future.
