Premiers across Canada have lifted the ban on U.S. alcohol sales and Wakeham says it’s up to the NLC now to place orders for more American booze.
Premier Tony Wakeham says there’s about $400K worth of alcohol from the U.S. that can go back on the shelves. In February of 2025, the NLC took products from the States off the shelves as a move to stand united against U.S. imposed tariffs on Canadian goods. Then in December, products were sold and Wakeham says proceeds of over half a million dollars went to foodbanks.
