The Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, Fred Hutton, says “Safety is paramount for our government, and the support in Budget 2024 will allow us to continue to add more vehicles as they are manufactured.”
The first fleet of five new snow plows have arrived in the province with another 59 due to arrive this winter. Budget 2024 allocated an additional $25 million to purchase equipment to support road maintenance operations. The Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, Fred Hutton, says “Safety is paramount for our government, and the support in Budget 2024 will allow us to continue to add more vehicles as they are manufactured.” These new plow trucks will replace units that have been taken out of service as well as aging trucks scheduled for replacement. Hutton says it isn’t easy to buy this equipment. The five new plows will be in St. John’s and the remaining to arrive this winter will be sent throughout the province
