Bad news for crews battling blazes in Churchill Falls. Yesterday, during a news update on the fires, Premier Andrew Furey says this is a very real time and dynamic situation.. He says the fire has now jumped the river over to the community side. Mitigation efforts will continue on both sides of the river.  Jennifer Williams, President and Chief Executive Officer of Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro, says they’re trying to protect the asset and started on the western side, but it will take weeks of work yet. About 100 NL Hydro personnel still on site are being evacuated.
