With warmer temperatures, residents can expect to see pedestrians and bicyclists, more frequent activity near roadways, and an overall higher volume of traffic.
The RNC is reminding motorists and the public of the importance of safe driving with an expected increase in summer traffic and outdoor activities. Cst James Cadigan says summer is an exciting time of year, especially for children. With warmer temperatures, residents can expect to see pedestrians and bicyclists, more frequent activity near roadways, and an overall higher volume of traffic. Reduce speeds in residential areas, especially around playgrounds or areas where children frequently gather. School zone speed limits are in effect all throughout the year.
Cadigan says to watch out for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists. Avoid distractions, be cautious of wildlife, check road conditions and never drive impaired.
