Paul Thomey is the Executive Director of the Eating Disorder Foundation NL. He says this is their 20th anniversary and he can’t think of a better birthday gift. Thomey says an eating disorder is a very complicated mental health issue affecting 20,000 people in NL.
Olivia Brake has been hired at the Corner Brook location as the Summer Marketing Assistant. She says the biggest resource is the online resource centre on their website that offers free e-books about eating disorders but there is a workshop coming to Corner Brook. The four session workshop will be offered this August.
Brake says it’s important for people suffering with an eating disorder to have a support system. For more info call 640-0248 or email olivia@edfnl.ca
