Their recent full-day, in-person meeting included discussions on community perspectives related to housing, the use of electronic monitoring, public awareness, and youth-focused education and prevention efforts.

Back in May, government declared gender based violence is now an epidemic in this province and started a Task Force to end it. This 12-member team has met several times to talk about a focus and priorities. Their recent full-day, in-person meeting included discussions on community perspectives related to housing, the use of electronic monitoring, public awareness, and youth-focused education and prevention efforts. This included opportunities to strengthen awareness and prevention through the province’s new education curriculum. Plans are being made to gather input from community organizations, stakeholders, and those with lived experience.
