Western Regional Waste Management’s Lynn Howse, says tires and rims have to be separated to be dropped off at Wildcove.
This is the day government has set for motorists to have studded winter tires removed. Studded tires are only allowed from November 1st and April 30th, but that deadline was extended this year due to a long-term weather forecast. On Bayfm’s Trash Talk with Lenny Benoit, Western Regional Waste Management’s Lynn Howse, says tires and rims have to be separated to be dropped off at Wildcove.
A tire change usually comes an oil change, and Howse says used motor oil is classified as “Household Hazardous Waste” and can be dropped off at their transfer stations. She says they launched this process at Wildcove a couple of years ago and collected 250 litres within a three hour time span.
