Speedy Glass in Corner Brook posted a “Breaking News” story on their facebook page yesterday. It stated, “ The staff of Speedy Glass Corner Brook have officially gone on strike!” Owner Nadine Margeson says when she arrived at work, employees were holding signs demanding fur treatment and were less than impressed that the shop dog was getting more attention.
Chase is a husky mix, a rescue from Natuashish, and he turned one year old in April. Sources close to the situation report that Chase has been enjoying daily treats, unlimited belly rubs, constant compliments and the best sport in the shop. Meanwhile, staff say they get fewer treats and belly rubs while almost no “Who’s a good boy?” comments.
Chase declined to comment, but Margeson says he appeared “completely unbothered” while enjoying another treat and a midday nap. Margeson says after intense negotiations, management agreed to provide coffee and muffins on a weekly basis, bringing an end to the employee walkout.
