Several outages on the west coast kept NL Power crews busy this weekend

    At its peak, over 2000 customers were without power early Sunday morning.

    Newfoundland Power crews were busy this weekend after high winds swept over the southwest coast. At its peak, over 2000 customers were without power early Sunday morning, affecting areas in and around Corner Brook including Maple Valley, West Valley, Confederation Drive, Watson's Pond and Massey Drive, extending as far as Gallants. About 200 customers in Pinchgut Lake, Gallants and Spruce Brook were also affected. 

    There was another outage affecting Howley that started just after 8:00 a.m. Sunday, and in the afternoon, crews were called to Fox Island Sunday to repair a pole that was down.

    In an unrelated event, over 500 customers in Pasadena also lost power late Saturday night following a reported vehicle collision with a pole.
