Cpl Jesse O’Donaghey says military munitions can vary greatly in shape, size, markings, condition and age.
The Canadian Armed Forces completed its assessment of the military munition in Stephenville late last night, and disposed of the item in a safe and secure location. The item was found in the St. George’s area this week and stored at the RCMP detachment in Stephenville. Cpl Jesse O’Donaghey says military munitions can be very different. He says they vary greatly in shape, size, markings, condition and age. Even items that appear old, damaged or inactive should always be considered extremely dangerous. If you find such an item, don’t touch, move or disturb it. Leave the area and contact police immediately.
