The downtown area in Corner Brook is getting cleaned up with street and sidewalk cleaning. It’s being completed in two main phases, road and sidewalk debris sweeping followed by a robust downtown clean. Staff have started the downtown clean on night shift as of Monday, May 11th, and this will continue until later this month. On Bayfm with Lenny Benoit, Mayor Linda Chaisson spoke about two new staff positions coming specifically for the downtown core. These positions will be focused on general cleaning, upkeep and maintenance of our downtown area. This will help ensure our downtown core is clean and welcoming to all residents and tourists throughout the summer season. The new employees will be hired for a 16-week period beginning June 1st.
