Emergency crews responded to a home on Clarence Street, the former site of Mr. Wilson’s store around 7:45 p.m. Police say the fire caused extensive damage to the home, and minor exterior damage to a neighbouring home and garage. All occupants were able to evacuate without injury. Investigators do not believe the fire to be suspicious as it is believed the fire originated from a barbeque. Meanwhile, the RNC is reminding those lighting up the grill to keep safety in mind first. Keep barbeques at least three feet away from buildings, make sure the grill is clean and never leave it unattended. Also, have a fire extinguisher nearby.
