Remembrance Day is a time to pause and honour our fallen soldiers and recognize the sacrifices of all who have served. Ceremonies, parades and other events are taking place in communities across the country today. Robert Murphy is the second vice of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 13 here in Corner Brook. He says the number of people attending Remembrance day events has been rising and the support in this area is heartwarming. Murphy says even the wet and windy weather can’t keep people away from gathering.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
