The $24.7 million project is cost-shared between the federal and provincial governments with the City of Corner Brook contributing $5.0 million.
It’s easy to see progress at the new Regional Recreation centre in Corner Brook. The $24.7 million project is cost-shared between the federal and provincial governments with the City of Corner Brook contributing $5.0 million. Mayor Jim Parsons says it’s really taking shape and the main aquatic area will feature a lap pool, leisure pool, lazy river and waterslide. Mayor Parsons says the overall cost is about $1 million over budget due to the older structure they started with. He says they don’t expect any more cost overruns. Mayor Parsons says it should be completed by next spring and will be a recreational hub for the Bay of Islands and Humber Valley region.
