N-Propionitrile chlorphine is believed to be at least ten times more potent than fentanyl.
The RCMP has issued a public warning after a dangerous synthetic opioid has been seized in this province for the first time. N-Propionitrile chlorphine is believed to be at least ten times more potent than fentanyl. Laboratory testing has confirmed that a quantity of these pills were seized in Happy Valley-Goose Bay during March. The pills look like the prescription opioid medication hydromorphone (commonly marketed as Dilaudid), which is prescribed for pain. There are no obvious physical differences between these fake pills and authentic prescription pills. This opioid is not approved for medical use and can be fatal in small doses, even for frequent or experienced drug users.
