The forecasted 60 to 90 mm of rain for the southwest coast to the Northern Peninsula has been downgraded, but heavy rain is on the way. The city of Corner Brook is on standby should residents need help with flooding issues. Rain at times heavy is expected to last until Thursday evening. 20-40mm is expected in areas of heaviest rain and moderate southwesterlies near midnight. Corner Brook Mayor Jim Parsons says water can do a lot of damage. Anyone needing help can call 637-1666.
