It has been almost 15 years since Qalipu First Nation was federally recognized, and last weekend a historic first. The meeting of Chief and Council was held on May 30th in St.John’s. On Bayfm’s Qalipu Today, Chief Jenny Brake spoke about feedback she’s received on the need to include members from outside the traditional territory and how they feel a lack of connection.

There will be a summer meeting of the Council but it will be virtual.
