Brake says they’ve started setting priorities and a path forward.
Now that the Chief and Council of the Qalipu First Nations have been sworn in, the focus is on a wholesome orientation. Chief Jenny Brake says they’ve started setting priorities and a path forward. She says they are looking at ways to support each other in community engagement because that’s what members want. She says a four year term goes by quickly and accountability and transparency are important. Brake says each councillor will be assigned to a committee in the new year and they will honour their commitments. She says there is so much education out there that will allow them to better serve the community. Brake says without proper education on different topics they can’t make good decisions.
