The Prime Minister spoke about the relationship with this province and Premier Andrew Furey. He says even though they have seen disagreements, the Premier’s values are in line and the desire to deliver is always at the forefront of everything Andrew Furey does. Furey says he’s had frank and open discussions with the Prime Minister He says as NL’s first minister, his job is to stand up for the people of this province and will always do it. Furey says while we have had disagreements on things like carbon and cod, today’s announcement is something that everyone agrees on, that children deserve to go to school, not thinking about where they’re getting the next meal. $9.1 million will be spent over the next three years to ensure children have access to food at school.
