The RNC is focused on drivers who put others at risk as part of Canada Road Safety Week, from May12th -18th. This year’s theme is ‘Road Safety: Every road. Every day. Everyone.’ Cst Stephanie Myers says the RNC will be engaged in various enforcement activities, as a reminder that the decisions drivers make not only affect them, but other road users as well. Police are looking for impaired driving, distracted driving, aggressive driving and driving without a seatbelt.
Meanwhile, the RCMP will also be out on the roads this holiday weekend looking for the same behaviours. Cpl Jesse O’Donaghey says it’s all about choices.. He encourages motorists to drive defensively and follow the rules of the road while being well rested, distraction free and not under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
