Bay St. George RCMP found drugs, weapons and cash during a traffic stop in Stephenville last week. Police stopped a vehicle on Sunset Crescent early Tuesday morning after someone called in about a man passed out behind the wheel with the engine going in a private driveway. The driver, 43-year-old Scott Alexander, was taken to hospital and police are waiting for results of a toxicology report. Meanwhile, during a search of the vehicle, RCMP found cocaine, MDMA (or Ecstasy), illicit pills, an imitation handgun, later determined to be a pellet gun, two edged weapons, cash and other drug trafficking items. Alexander is facing a number of charges with more possible. His vehicle was seized by police and impounded.
