Yesterday morning, remains of a missing American hunter were found in the rubble of a weekend fire that took down the Deer Lake Driftwood Inn. The blaze broke out early Saturday morning. RCMP Cpl Jolene Garland says they issued a release over the weekend looking for 77-year-old Eugene Earl Spoon from Kansas who was staying at the Inn. As part of a search of the fire scene, police confirmed it was the missing man. Garland says both the fire and the man’s death are under investigation. She says the family of the deceased man have been notified.
