RCMP Traffic Services West stopped a driver doing 164 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone on Monday. Police say the 33-year-old man was stopped for excessive speeding by Traffic Services West on the Trans Canada Highway near Hampden Junction. The driver’s speed was locked in at 159 km/hr. He received a ticket for speeding, his license was suspended, and his vehicle was impounded.

Bay of Islands MHA Eddie Joyce says when Resolve Marine originally announced details of getting the MSC Baltic III out of the area, most of the salvage was to be sent by barge to Stephenville but now starting July 1st, they’ll be trucking over 500 loads over Route 450 on to Stephenville.
