The next Conference of New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers is set for Massachusetts in 2024.

New England Governors and Eastern Canadian premiers met in Quebec City over the past couple of days marking 50 years of Cross-Border Collaboration. This was the 44th Conference and shared priorities included a green economy, economic development, energy, and the development of minerals essential to decarbonization. The group committed to meeting the target adopted in 2015 to reduce GHG emissions by at least 35% below 1990 levels by 2030, and achieve net-zero by 2050. Citizen security is also a priority that calls for enhanced cooperation regarding civil safety. In July 2000, governors and premiers adopted the International Emergency Management Assistance Memorandum of Understanding, which aims to provide mutual assistance in the event of an emergency or disaster. The next Conference of New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers is set for Massachusetts in 2024.
