If the committee passes the motion, it will be referred to the House of Commons for all MPs to vote on as early as Thursday, January 30th.
On January 7th, the Public Accounts Committee will be recalled to vote on moving a motion of non-confidence in the Liberal Government to the House of Commons as soon as it returns following the winter break. The committee's non-confidence motion is the start of a two-step process. If the committee passes the motion, it will be referred to the House of Commons for all MPs to vote on as early as Thursday, January 30th. Conservatives, Bloc Quebecois and the NDP, representing a majority of MPs, have all announced they will vote non-confidence in the Liberal Government in order to force an election. Many of Trudeau's own MPs, including his former deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, no longer have confidence in him.
